Nancy L. Vickers

Age 76, of Canton, passed away Monday, Dec. 26, 2016.  She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late Gilbert and Dorothy (Ripple) Myers, was raised in Magnolia, and had been a Canton resident since 1975.  Nancy was retired from PCC Airfoils, after over 40 years’ service, where she was a non-destructive metal tester.  She was a member of Lowell Church, Legacy Chapter #596, Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of Mokana, Kadesh Court of Tadmor Shrine, and was Queen Mom of the Red Hat Society.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Brad Beatty.  Nancy is survived by her husband, Clyde H. Vickers, with whom she celebrated their 41st Wedding Anniversary on June 21, 2016; three daughters and a son-in-law, Faye Moore, Laura Murphy, Theresa and Mike Salmon; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark Vickers, Mark and Marlee Beatty, and Clyde T. and Tammy Vickers; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Velma Myers.  A Celebration of Life will be held Sat., Jan. 7, 2017 at 4 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Gary A. Smith officiating.  The family will receive friends two hours before the service on Sat. from 2-4 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nancy’s memory may be made to the Children’s Dislexic Center, c/o the Canton Masonic Temple, 836 Market Ave. North, Canton, OH 44702.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
