Anthony Rozler

June 20, 1942 ~ March 22, 2017 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Anthony (Tony) C.  Rozler,

of Dellroy, OH (formerly of Dalton, OH) died on March 22, 2017 after a period of declining health.  He was born June 20, 1942, in Buffalo, N.Y. to the late Norman and Margaret Rozler. Tony married his high school sweetheart, Marie, on October 19, 1963, who passed away in April, 2012.  Tony served two years in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany.  He then was employed by Republic Steel as an accountant for about 35 years.  He proudly served on council for the Village of Dalton for 15 years. After retiring from Republic Steel, he worked as treasurer for the Atwood Yacht Club.  Tony was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.  He and his wife attended two of the four Superbowls they played in, but was sad to have never seen a win. Tony liked to brag to all who would listen that he was “ALL STREET” in basketball while growing up.  He had a passion for sports and played running bases, basketball, and baseball with his kids.  He loved attending all of their athletic events and cheering them on.  He is survived by his four children, Mike (Kathleen) Rozler of Pickerington, OH, Paul (Lisa) Rozler of Dalton, OH, Kristin (Mark) Rupp of Monroeville, OH and Jenny (Bill) Baechle of Dalton, OH.  He had 10 adoring grandchildren:  Zak (Elli), Nick, and Rachel Rozler, Allisha and Karen Rozler, Maxwell and Lillian Baechle, Benjamin Rupp, and Kali and Delaney Mattoon.  Also surviving are his sister, Norma (Jim) Griffin of Minocqua, Wisconsin and his brother, Dan (Judy) Rozler of West Seneca, N.Y.  There will be a Memorial service at the Atwood Yacht Club on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 3:00 PM.  The family wishes to give sincere thanks to the staff at Brookdale Assisted Living Facility in Canton, OH where he resided the last few months.  They were very hospitable and kind to him.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Dalton Local Schools (in memo: Tony Rozler Memorial Fund to be used for the track fund) at 177 N. Church St. Dalton, OH 44618, or the American Cancer Society at P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
