William A. “Gus” Dieringer

 Age 82, of Dellroy, passed away Sat., May 13, 2023.  He was born Jan. 15, 1941 in Canton, a son of the late Lester and Alberta (Roof) Dieringer, and resided most of his life in Magnolia area.  Gus was a 1959 graduate of Sandy Valley High School, a 1963 graduate of Mount Union College with Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, and received his Masters Degree in Education from Akron University. He retired in 2006 from Jackson Local Schools where he was Director of Transportation, and previously was Superintendent of Sandy Valley Local Schools from 1978-92. Gus was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Waynesburg and a member of the Magnolia Lions Club since 1978.

 Gus is survived by his wife, Christine S. Dieringer, with whom he celebrated their 32nd Wedding Anniversary Nov. 18th last year; two daughters and one son, Lisa Barlow, Diana (Gerald) Tout, and Michael (Elaine) Dieringer; two step-sons, Paton Harrower and Jacob (Barbie) Harrower; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson, Ryan and Zachary Barlow, Jake (Sage) Rapp, and their son, Chase,  Jamie, Jaclyn, & Garrett Tout, Julia (Evan) Korson, Alexander and Max Harrower.

 A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 12 Noon in St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Zamary as Celebrant.  Friends may call at the church two hours before the Mass on Thursday from 10 a.m.-12 noon.  Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gus’s memory may be made to the Magnolia Lions Club, P.O.
