Walter Bratka

Walter C. Bratka, Jr.,

Age 75, of Canton, passed away Wed., Jan. 25, 2023.  He was born Apr. 1, 1947, in Canton, a son of the late Walter Bratka, Sr., and Charlotte (Nesbitt) Biedenbach.  Walt served with the U.S. Navy Reserve, was a member of Faith Community Church, bowled for the Smith’s Market team, and retired as a Certified Nurses Assistant.  Preceded in death by his sister, Patty Dawn Bratka, and his brother, David Bratka.  Survived by Rose Monnot; his son and daughter-in-law, Randal (Branita) Bratka; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Crystal Miraglia, and Melody (Kenny) Elliott; one brother, Mark Bratka; two grandchildren, Joshua Bratka and Victoria Bratka (Derrick George); one great granddaughter, Nadia George; Amanda, Wayne, and Chloe Slease; and numerous nieces and nephews.  A Memorial Service will be held Sat., Feb. 25, in Faith Community Church with Pastor Elden Smith officiating.  Friends may call one hour before the service, from 10-11 am, in the church.  The Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home in Canton is in charge of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Walt’s memory may be made to Faith Community Church, 4301 Cleveland Ave NW, Canton, OH 44709, or the Stark County Humane Society, 5100 Peach St NE, Louisville, OH 44641.  Condolences may be left at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
