W. Scott Daniels

Age 68, of Massillon, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023.  He was born Sept. 18, 1954 in Canton, a son of the late Ted and Dorothy (Pyle) Daniels, and was a life resident of this area. Scott was a 1972 graduate of Lehman High School and was retired from Blue Technology. He was an entertainer, guitarist, and singer for numerous bands, including Clean Slate, Class Reunion, and Oblivion. Scott had volunteered as Perry Youth Soccer Coach and served as President of the Perry Soccer Club. He also served as a poll worker for the Stark County Board of Elections. His interests were varied and included, boating, fishing, camping, playing pool, euchre, being an excellent grill master, but especially spending quality family time.

Scott is survived by his wife Mary, with whom he celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary on July 23rd; four children and four grandchildren, Cassy (Kyle) Sedlacko, and their son, Silas Scott, Catrina (Dane) Cowart, Chase Daniels, Wess (Emily) Daniels, and their children, Lillian, Mae, and Clement Winfield; two sisters and one brother, Susan (Eugene) Tonkinson, Patty (Peg) Daniels-Flechtner, Ted B. (Beth) Daniels; many nieces and nephews, and his beloved greyhound, Truper.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Lia Scholl officiating. Friends may call Tuesday 1-3 p.m. before the service.  Contributions in Scott’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association.  The family wishes to express their thanks to the nurses and staff of Mercy Specialty Select for the love and care they gave to Scott.
