Thurman D. Bailey
Age 80, of Mineral City, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022. He was born August 21, 1941, on the family farm near Mineral City, a son of the late Thurman and Cora (Waldman) Bailey, and he was a life resident. Thurman was a 1959 graduate of Tusky Valley High School. He was retired from the Timken Company after 36 years of service where he was a Millwright. He attended Dover First Christian Church. He also was a farmer and enjoyed hunting with his coon dogs and rabbit dogs, but mostly he enjoyed being with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Guyla and Mike Ferguson. He is survived by his wife, Verla (Tomblin) Bailey with whom he would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on July 1st, a son, and daughter-in-law, Dwight and Brenda Sue Bailey, five granddaughters, Cheyenne (Erik) Vuchkovich, Tabatha (Shane) Tully, Tyonnie Justice, Shannone (Mitch) Koch, Tonya (Dustin) Dean, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and two great-great-grandchildren on the way, one sister, Lora Mae Carrick, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with a Minister, Josh Robertson, officiating. Friends may call Friday, 6-8 p.m. Interment will be Saturday in Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville. Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
