Richard (Rich) H. Bartlett,

of Magnolia, Ohio passed away Monday, May 29, 2023, at Schoenbrunn Healthcare Center.  Rich was born October 24, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in the Champaign-Urbana Illinois area and graduated from Champaign Central High School. In his pre-teen years his family spent some time living in Turkey and Rich had many interesting stories of that time.Rich’s career as a truck driver began in 1995. He was proud to have been employed by Praxair and Airgas, having obtained extensive certifications in cryogenics logistics. He logged many hours delivering product and always ensured his customers were satisfied. On his deliveries he enjoyed meeting new people and made many lifetime friendships.  Rich was an artisan in brass castings. His enthusiasm about natural clays, glazing techniques and specialty wood was contagious. He welcomed an opportunity to share his knowledge and experience with anyone and everyone.

Rich is survived by his wife Nancy Courtright Bartlett, cousin Maria Chi, her husband Curtis and their son Victor; cousins Les and Annette Downs; mother-in-law Ann Courtright (Little Mama), sisters-in-law and husbands Robert and Susan Courtright Weaver, Rebecca Courtright Brown, Miriam Courtright Echols and Larry and Jane Courtright Gallagher. Also, many nieces and nephews.  Rich was preceded in death by his mother Anne Bartlett, aunt Jane Bartlett and father-in-law Robert Courtright.  Special thanks for the support and friendship of Greg T. Sickafoose who was a long time “brother” to Rich.  The family extends a heartfelt appreciation for the pastoral care from Nathan and Alisa Weaver and family.  The family acknowledges the outstanding care and support from the Schoenbrunn Healthcare Center staff.

Friends may call Fri. from 6-9 pm in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia.  A private graveside service will be held Sat.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local animal rescue or Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave SW, New Philadelphia Oh 44663.  Condolences may be left at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
