Rebecca Jane Weiford

Age 76, of Canton, passed away Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023.  She was born Jan. 20, 1947 in Columbus, OH, a daughter of the late Winford and Ila (Smith) Weiford, and was a life resident of Canton. Becky was a 1965 graduate of Glenwood High School, a graduate of the College of Wooster with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pre-Med, and a Graduate of the University of Toledo with a Masters Degree in both Chemistry and Biology. She had been a Biochemist at Aultman Hospital for 40 years, retiring in 2012. Becky was very involved in, and a member of the Board of College Club. She loved animals, especially cats. Becky loved to travel, loved flowers, and her family. Recently she had gone to Amish country with some cousins, (her favorite place to visit) and had a wonderful time. 

Becky is survived by her sister, Melinda White; two nephews, Benjamin White and his wife Darla Stecz and their three sons, and Richard White and his wife Carmen White, and their daughter; and one sister-in-law, Mary Grovemiller Weiford.   Preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Weiford.

A Memorial Service will be held Sat., Oct. 21, 2023, at 2 p.m. in Christ Presbyterian Church with Pastor David deVries officiating. There will be no calling hours. The Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Contributions in Becky’s memory may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
