Obituary

Penny M. Burnworth

Age 65, of Waynesburg, passed away Wed., July 19, 2023.  She was born Nov. 10, 1957 in Richwood, WV, a daughter of the late Edward and Naomi (Ashby) Hamilton, and had been a Waynesburg area resident most of her life. Penny was a 1976 graduate of Sandy Valley High School. She was retired from Insept Telemarketing and had also worked for Alpha Injection Molding and as Studio Manager for Sears Portraits.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Walter J. Burnworth III, on June 15, 2012.  Penny is survived by a daughter and son, Kat Comstock, and Walter J. “John” Burnworth IV, a beloved granddaughter, Sadie Twiss, and a sister and brother, Donna Binkley, and Edward (Tammy) Hamilton.

Services will be held Wed. at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Daniel Sunde officiating.  Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. Interment will be in Sandy Valley Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
