Norman Watson Obituary

NORMAN G. WATSON,

Age 90, of Bolivar, formerly of East Sparta, passed away Peacefully Sat., Jan. 30, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Born May 9, 1930, in Belmont Co., OH, a son of the late Charles and Wilda (Whitsell) Watson.  Norman retired in 1995 from the Timken Co. after 30 years of service as a grinder, however, after retirement he continued to work for elsons feed mill and Williams Toyota. Norman was a member of the East Sparta United Methodist Church and Golden Lodge.  Norman never met a stranger, he was known as the man who could fix anything. He found his most joy in his workshop coming up with new projects and spent most of his time outdoors working in his garden, tending to his flowers and keeping his yard meticulous. He was full of intelligence, life, and loved his family more than anything, especially his grandchildren.  He was passionate about any job he was given and firmly believed in putting his all into anything he did. Norman will always be remembered by his willingness to help anyone and his fascinating life stories.  Preceded in death by his daughter, Belinda Watson, his sister, Estella Griffith, his brother, Lester Watson, and his son-in-law, Michael White, and his grandson, Norman Neading.  Survived by his wife, Carol Watson, the love of his life with whom he celebrated their 56th Wedding Anniversary on June 26th; five daughters and one son-in-law, Brenda Neading, Bridget (Tim) Cherrington, Belinda Sue White, Deborah Watson, and Christine Watson; one sister, Elizabeth Becker, and thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, several nieces and nephews and his life long friend, Gale Motz. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Gardens Staff of Hennis Care Centre of Bolivar for the special care and attention they showed to Norman as well as Homestead Hospice.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  In memory of Norman, donations can be made to the East Sparta United Methodist Church, PO Box 445, East Sparta, OH  44626.  The Finefrock-Gordon funeral Home in Magnolia is in charge of arrangements.  Condolences may be left at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
