Mary Louise McGovern (nee Mancini)

 Age 87, of Canton, passed into the presence of our Lord on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.  She was born April 8, 1935 in Blairsville, PA, to the late Joseph Mario and Mary Louise (Curatti) Mancini.  She married the love of her life, William Young “Bill” McGovern, on January 23, 1954, and spent her life devoted to him and their five children.  She was lovingly referred to as Momma Mary and Weezie, along with wife, mom, grandma, aunt, and friend.  She was a prayer warrior and lifelong member of the Church of God.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, William Y. “Bill” McGovern, on December 11, 2020, son Gary L. McGovern, brothers James and Ronald Mancini, sister Josephine Franz, daughter-in-law, Diann McGovern, and infant grandson, Jordan McGovern.  She leaves behind her daughter, Renae (Tim) Tepe, sons, Joe McGovern, Bill (Tina) McGovern, and Eric McGovern, brother, Larry (Sharon) Mancini; grandchildren, Shawn McGovern, Heather (Steve) Schleig, Jessica (Ryan) Frankenburg, Jonathan (Brittany) Grubb, Zachary and Rachel Tepe, Andrea McGovern, Stephanie (Charles) Snee, Tyler (Kaitlyn) McGovern, and Spencer McGovern, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

 Services will be held Friday, November 11, 2022, at 1 p.m. in The Father’s House with Pastor Webb Parsons officiating.  Friends may call Friday two hours before the service at the church from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.  Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to The Father’s House, 3951 Fulton Drive NW, Canton, OH  44718.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
