Louis R. Kasler
Age 76, of Canton, passed away Wed., Jan. 13, 2021. He was born Jan. 1, 1945 in Canton, son of the late Raymond and Elsie Kasler, and was a life resident. Louis was a 1963 graduate of McKinley High School, and was a retired employee of LTV Republic Steel. He enjoyed trapshooting, hunting, gardening, cooking, and westerns with John Wayne. But most of all what he really enjoyed doing was watching his grandkids play sports. Louis honorably served in the U. S. Marine Corps during the VietNam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers, Hilda Owens, Steve, Foster, and Harold Kasler. Louis is survived by his friend and former wife, Diane Midcap, two daughters, Mindi (Brent) Weiford and Rebekah (Donald) Mingus III, seven grandchildren, Zackary (fiancée Jennifer) Weiford, Bryce (fiancée Jackie) Weiford, Gabriel Weiford, Donnie Mingus IV, Tyler Mingus, Kennedy Mingus, and Hailey Mingus, one great-granddaughter, Annabella Weiford, two sisters and two brothers, Patty Knutty, Dorothy McLaughlin, Terry (Audrey) Kasler, and George Kasler. Services will be held Thursday at 12 Noon in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Thomas Fryman officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service.
