Judy A. Pegg
Age 79, of Canton, passed away Friday, March 19, 2021. She was born June 9, 1941 in Canton, a daughter of the late Donald Woods and Betty (Wottle) Wolfert and step-father Carl Wolfert, and was a life resident. Judy was a 1960 graduate of Lincoln High School. She retired in 1996 from Mercy Medical Center after almost 30 years’ service, where she was a Nurses’ Aide in the nursery working with the newborn babies and mamas. She still found great enjoyment in spending time with her “Mercy Girls”. Judy was an animal lover and regularly supported the Stark County Humane Society, the ASPCA, and Guiding Eyes for the Blind. She connected with dogs on a spiritual level. She always worried more about others than herself. She loved people and was the kind of person who said hello to everyone she passed on the street. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Kent Pegg on Feb. 11, 2021, whose loss weighed on her deeply and an infant sister, Carlene Wolfert. She is survived by her daughter, Kim Hollinger, daughter-in-law, Carrie Pegg, two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter, twins Natalie (Steve Miller) Starn and Renee Starn, and her daughter Aria Starn. According to her wishes there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Judy’s memory may be made to either the Stark County Humane Society, PO Box 7077, Canton, OH 44705, or the shelter where she got her last rescue dog, Tinkerbelle, DJ’s Rescue, c/o any Huntington Bank. A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer. Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
