Judy A. Pegg

Age 79, of Canton, passed away Friday, March 19, 2021.  She was born June 9, 1941 in Canton, a daughter of the late Donald Woods and Betty (Wottle) Wolfert and step-father Carl Wolfert, and was a life resident.  Judy was a 1960 graduate of Lincoln High School.  She retired in 1996 from Mercy Medical Center after almost 30 years’ service, where she was a Nurses’ Aide in the nursery working with the newborn babies and mamas.  She still found great enjoyment in spending time with her “Mercy Girls”.  Judy was an animal lover and regularly supported the Stark County Humane Society, the ASPCA, and Guiding Eyes for the Blind.  She connected with dogs on a spiritual level.  She always worried more about others than herself.  She loved people and was the kind of person who said hello to everyone she passed on the street.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Kent Pegg on Feb. 11, 2021, whose loss weighed on her deeply and an infant sister, Carlene Wolfert.  She is survived by her daughter, Kim Hollinger, daughter-in-law, Carrie Pegg, two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter, twins Natalie (Steve Miller) Starn and Renee Starn, and her daughter Aria Starn.  According to her wishes there will be no services.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Judy’s memory may be made to either the Stark County Humane Society, PO Box 7077, Canton, OH 44705, or the shelter where she got her last rescue dog, Tinkerbelle, DJ’s Rescue, c/o any Huntington Bank.  A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer.  Condolences may be sent to:  www.gordonfuneralhomes.com

Mama Judy will be missed greatly. I will never forget her kind voice when she would call and say "hi honey". She was so loving and caring. She took great pride in helping Kent and I arrange our wedding in Navarre. She meant the world to her son Kent and to me. My sincerest condolences to her family and friends.  The world has lost a beautiful person but Heaven has gained a genuine angel. May she and Kent spend their days happy, healthy and dancing with our other family Angels.

So sorry to hear of Judy’s passing. She was a joy to work with. She never met a stranger and was so very helpful. Prayers for strength for her family.

I worked with Judy in the nursery all of her employment.  She was a good and faithful worker and was an asset to our department.  She loved the babies and our staff enjoyed working and going to our group outings with Judy.
Judy loved her family and shared pictures of the grands. My love and condolences to the family in all of their losses.

So sorry to hear about Judy's passing.  I've known her and Jerry and grandma since the 50"s.  I remember when Kim and Kent were born.  It's been a couple years since I ran into her at Acme.  We lost contact, so sad.   Kim I'm thinking of you in this really rough time, but know she is in a better place with her two loves..
