John Robert Lindesmith
Passed away suddenly on the afternoon of June 18, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was 60 and taken away too soon. John was the second of four children to Jim and Carol (Lewers) Lindesmith. Graduate of McKinley High School, class of ’79 and University of Dayton, class of ‘83. Member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Canton.
Survived by wife Patricia (Klubert), his devoted partner in life for 37 years; son, John “Snake” (Alexandra) and grandson, Theodore “T”; daughter, Hannah C. “Bugsy”; son, Ryan P. “Gen”. Also survived by father, Jim; brothers, Jim (Carolyn); Jeff (Karla) and sister Diane (Bob) Hawk in addition to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by mom, Carol; in-laws, Al and Agnes Klubert and brother-in-law, Vaughn Prude. John, The Commissioner of the Lindesmith Classic, loved all Cleveland sports, The Buckeyes, coaching, writing, and sharing his beautiful stories and poems with all. He looked forward to his daily Facetimes with his grandson, nightly phone calls with his dad and all-day check-ins with his kids. He left a lasting impression on everyone he knew and to know him was to love him. His family was his pride and joy, and his larger-than-life presence will be missed tremendously. Calling hours Monday, June 21st, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home (Cleveland Ave.). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 3430 St. Michaels Blvd. N.W. Canton, with Fr. Benson Okpara as Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to the new Aultman Hospital Breast Care Fund.
