Jeanne (Miner) Johnson

 Age 84, of Canton, passed away Sat., April 29, 2023.  She was born March 15, 1939 in Rogersville, TN, a daughter of the late App and Kathleen (Stipe) Miner, and had been a Canton resident over 70 years.  Jeanne was a well-known country music entertainer, and was the Founder and President of the Ohio Country & Western Music Association. 

 In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Ballard Johnson, Jr., on Oct.21, 2021, a daughter, Deborah Humphries, two grandchildren, Chad Humphries and Brittany Buchanan, and eight brothers and sisters.  Jean is survived by two daughters and one son, Lisa and Bruce West, Janine and Herb Burke, and Jeffrey and Stephanie Johnson; 15 grandchildren, Kelley (Brian) Gemeiner, Ryan (Erin) West, Alisha (Donovan Pinder) Ferguson, Joshua Ferguson, Bradley (Amanda) Humphries, Dwayne (Olivia) Humphries, Amanda (Jason) Judd, Fr. Chad E. Johnson, Patricia Johnson, Cameron Johnson, Celina Johnson, Angel Johnson, Chase Johnson, Michaela Johnson, and Jada Johnson; 20 great-grandchildren; three sisters and one brother, Joan Rogers, Janice Lawrence, Brenda Rohrer, and Alan Miner.

 Friends and family will meet Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of North lawn Mausoleum for a service with her grandson, Fr. Chad Johnson officiating.  Friends may call Wed. 6-8 p.m. at the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home.  Entombment will be in North lawn Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jean’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
