JEAN “SUNNY” FLETCHER,
Age 75, of Canton, passed away Wed., June 1, 2022. She was born Dec. 10, 1946, a daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Burch) Blubaugh. Jean moved to California in 1972, and had lived in Hermosa Beach, Lake Arrowhead and Las Vegas before moving back to Ohio in 2018. She was a retired teacher and had attended Christ the Servant Parish at Our Lady of Peace Church in Canton. Survived by her husband, Daniel Fletcher, one son and daughter-in-law, David (Jena) Wagner, one sister, Judie Buffington, two grandsons, Matthew and Michael Wagner, and a great grandson, Ryland Wagner.
Jean loved her husband Danny for 36 years. She was steadfast in her faith and a devoted Catholic. She was very proud of her sobriety and AA played a big part in all of our lives. If you knew Sunny, you have probably been to an AA or Al Anon meeting! Jean was proud of obtaining her teaching degree at 40 years old, and believes it’s never too late to start something you want to do. Sunny loved to garden and had obtained her “Master Gardner” certificate after she retired. She had a BIG personality, loved to shop, and be “bougie!” Jean volunteered her time after she retired and enjoyed giving back. Her love for her roots in Ohio and her sister Judie brought her back four years ago to Akron, OH where she always wanted to be….home. This is where she will be for eternity! May you rest in peace Sunny now that you are home with your Lord and Savior in Heaven! Until we meet again. The family is planning a memorial mass sometime in the future. The Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home in Canton is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
