Jean A. Diss

Age 83, of Canton, passed away Friday, November 10, 2023.  She was born August 1, 1940 in East Sparta, a daughter of the late Edward and Margaret (Rennie) Borkowski, and was a life resident of this area.  Jean was a 1958 graduate of Canton South High School.  She was a Driver Training Instructor for several high schools in the Stark County area.  Jean also helped her husband at Fred G. Diss Construction Co. as a bookkeeper, and as the decorator for their speck homes.  She was a member of the Eight of 58 Card Club with girl friends from high school.  Jean had a green thumb and loved to garden and grew many flowers.  She and Fred loved to travel and went to many places in the world.  Jean enjoyed camping and boating and spent 15 years at Lake Okeechobee, Fl.

Jean is survived by her husband, Fred G. Diss, with whom she celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary on July 2nd this year; her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Rick Unsworth, and her son and daughter-in-law, Derek and Daphne Diss; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, Josh (Nicole) Unsworth, and their children, Parker and Ava, Jake (Danielle) Unsworth, and their children, Everly and Hudson, Emma (Cory) Unsworth, and their daughter, Flora, and Dustin Diss; and two brothers, Eddie Borkowski and Mark Borkowski.

Services will be held Sat. at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Matthew Garrabrant officiating.  Friends may call Sat. 10-11 a.m. before the service.  Interment will be in Melscheimer Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
