James W. Reed

age 85, of Magnolia, passed away Wed., Dec. 22, 2021.  He was born Dec. 14, 1936 in Waynesburg, a son of the late Ray W. and Ruth (Clapper) Reed, Sr., and was a life resident of the Sandy Valley area.  Jim retired from Sugardale Provision, after over 25 years’ service.  He was a member of East Sparta Christian Church and the Senior Saints Sunday school class of the church.

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Beverly Reed, on Feb. 4, 1960, and Grace E. Reed, on March 23, 2007, a son, Richard Kocher, grandson, Kyle Kocher, four brothers and three sisters, Virgil Reed, Verl Reed, Ray Reed, Jr., Donald Reed, Viola Kail, Helen Cross, and Evelyn Leichtamer.

 Jim is survived by two sons, Bill (Kathy) Reed and Dave Kocher, one sister and two brothers, Linda Young, Harold Reed and Ralph Reed, eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

 Services will be held Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, at 1 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Timothy Carlson officiating.  Friends may call Monday two hours before the service from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.  Masks are suggested.
