James I. Contrucci

Age 78, of Dover, passed away Sat., April 24, 2021.  He was born Sept. 15, 1942 in Canton, a son of the late Vincenso and Julia (Markulis) Contrucci, resided most of his married life in Waynesburg, and Dover since 2011.  Jim was a 1960 graduate of Canton Lincoln High School.  He was retired from Gradall Inc. in New Philadelphia where he was a machinist.  He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dover and a former member of St. James Catholic Church in Waynesburg, also a member of the Dover Knights of Columbus, Council #1973 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Buckeye Beagle Club.  Jim proudly served in the U. S. Air Force in the Vietnam War from 1960-64.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret A. Contrucci, on March 25, 2002, and a sister, Laura Evans.  Jim is survived by his wife, Jacque Contrucci, one daughter and two sons, Lisa (Steve) Loomis, James (Kellie) Contrucci, and Vince Contrucci, three grandchildren, Jackson Contrucci, Maggie and Stella Loomis, one sister and one brother, Mary Ann (Thomas) Tedone and John (Bonnie) Contrucci.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Zamary as Celebrant.  There will be no visitation.  Interment will be in Sandy Valley Cemetery with Military Honors.  Social distancing and facial coverings are required.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
