James T. Comber
Age 81, of Canton, passed away Wed. August 16, 2023. He was born July 11, 1942 in Wadsworth, OH, a son of the late Harold “Scotty” and Marjorie (Sickafoose) Comber, was raised in Magnolia, and resided in the Peoria, AZ area 33 years, moving back to Canton in Feb. of 2013. Jim was a 1960 graduate of Sandy Valley High School. He was the owner/operator of Bear’s Auto Transport in Arizona, and previously worked at Sugardale while living here. He was a member of Magnolia Methodist Church. He enjoyed drag racing and worked part time at Magnolia Drag Strip where he also raced cars.
Jim is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Young) Comber, with whom he celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary on June 23rd; one daughter and one son, Tanya (Troy) Faiello and Tom (Debbie) Comber; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, Thomas (Morgan) Comber, Nicole Comber and her children, Lucy, Daphne, and Zephyr, Jessica (Dan) Karipides, and their children, Declan, Nolan, and Teagan, Dena (Cody) Offenberger, and their son, Maddox, Mikaela Faiello, and Dominic Faiello; two sisters, Kathleen Webb and Carolyn Nicholson.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Gary Smith, Celebrant, officiating. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 p.m. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
