Gordon Paul Laubert
Age 84, of East Sparta, passed away Monday, Jan. 4, 2021. He was born Sept. 26, 1936 in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Robert and Dorothy (Gordon) Laubert, resided in Massillon 23 years, Sandyville 33 years, and East Sparta since 2019. He was a graduate of Sherrard High School, attended Walsh College and Akron University, was a graduate of West Virginia Business College in Clarksburg, WV. Gordon was retired from Ragon Electric in Canton where he was in sales. He also had been Superintendent for U. S. Ceramic Tile Co. in East Sparta. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and Issac L. Kinney American Legion Post #244 in East Sparta. Gordon honorably served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War from 1954-1957. In addition to his parents Gordon was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristen Norris, and his furry friend, Paris. He is survived by his wife, Penny Laubert, with whom he celebrated their 38th Wedding Anniversary on Sept. 3rd, his constant furry companion, Belle, four daughters and two sons, Robin (Rick) Forgan, Cindy (Bryan) Gerber, Joni (Doug) Neading, Jami (Bob) Offenberger, Gordon (Roxanna) Laubert, Jr., and Michael (Beverley) Laubert, a son-in-law, Kevin Norris,14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, three sisters, Carol Loy, Linda (John) Kelley, and Robin (Bob) Harper. A private memorial service for the family will be held Sat. at 11 a.m. in Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Michael Bradford officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery at a later date. There will be no calling hours. Social distancing and facial covering will be observed.
