Geneva J. Devine
Age 89, of Magnolia, passed away Wed., Feb. 17, 2021. She was born March 9, 1931 in Kipling, OH, a daughter of the late Freemond Noble, Sr., Bessie (Haynes) Noble and Virginia Noble, and resided in the Sandyville/Magnolia area most of her life. Geneva was a cook for Sandy Valley Local Schools at East Sparta Elementary and Sandy Valley High School, and retired as Cafeteria Manager. She was a member of Magnolia United Methodist Church and the Willing Workers of Sandyville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading and cooking and baking from scratch, and loved to make bread, sweet rolls, apple dumplings, homemade noodles and pretzels which her family dearly loved. Geneva was a Godly woman who read her Bible every day. But most of all her family was her priority, and she loved all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the two precious great-great-grandchildren, and all went to see grandma all the time. In addition to her parents, Geneva was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charles R. “Charlie” Devine, on August 22, 2003, two brothers and one sister, Freemond Noble, Jr, Gerald Noble, and Aletha Gibson Waltz. She is survived by three daughters and a son, Valorie and Robert Fulton, Susan and Steve Jones, Wendy and Steve Loomis, and Chuck and Abby Devine, a Foster son, Dave and Patti Fishel, seventeen grandchildren, Tracy Vance, Tim Fulton, Joni (Chip) White, Jill (Dave) Maculaitis, Jenna (Rob) Steinberg, Steve (Lisa) Loomis, Travis (Tina) Loomis, Clay (Justine Nussbaum) Loomis, Brenton Devine, Eric (Charity) Devine, Chris (Alicia) LaBonne, Andrew LaBonne, Brandon Nicsinger, Nicolette Nicsinger, and Brittany (Jason) Ecenbarger, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Sat. May 29, 2021 at 11 a.m. in Magnolia United Methodist Church with Pastor Carl Orphanides officiating.
