Gale D. Spatafore
Age 78, of North Canton, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021. She was born April 18, 1943 in Dover, OH, a daughter of the late Thomas W. and Faye E. (Jones) Sacco, was raised in Mineral City, and had been a North Canton resident since 1976. Gale was a 1961 graduate of Tusky Valley High School and went to the Canton Beauty and Cosmetology College. She and her husband Joe worked together for 25 years with their video production business, JLS Video Productions. Gale was very active in Grace United Methodist Church in North Canton, as member of the United Methodist Women, sang in the choir, on the Parish Council, Liturgist, Usher, taught children’s Sunday school, and was a member of an adult class. She also was active with North Canton Playhouse, as an actor, director, with costumes and props, and as a member of the Board. Gale was always helping others, and she and Joe took food, bread and sweets weekly to Calvary Mission in Canton. As a YMCA member she loved doing aerobics and walking. She was a people person and was a representative for North Canton Playhouse and the Center for Performing Arts on the North Canton Business Association. She portrayed “Mary Magdalene” for many years at various area churches. Gale always said yes to going out for lunch, that housework could wait, friends and family came first. She and Joe loved to travel all over the world. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Debby Olson, grandson, Mark Hackworth, and a sister-ln-law, Irene Sacco. Gale is survived by her husband, Joseph L. Spatafore, with whom she would have celebrated their 45th Wedding Anniversary on July 20th, one daughter and three sons, Mary Jane Morris, Doug (Belinda) Morris, Steven Spatafore, and Greg (Jill) Spatafore, three grandchildren, Dennis Bachtel, Marissa Spatafore, and Tony Spatafore, six great-grandchildren, two sisters and one brother, Peggy (Chuck) Bungard, Doris (David) Scott, and Gary Sacco. Services will be held Wed. at 1 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Jared Williams officiating. Friends may call Wed. two hours before the service from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Social distancing and facial covering must be observed.
