Frederick F. Beers, Jr.
Age 80, of Mineral City, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021. He was born Nov. 18, 1940 in Mineral City, a son of Frederick F. and Gertrude Iva (Nelson) Beers, Sr., and was a life resident. Fred was a 1958 graduate of Tusky Valley High School. He retired in 2002 from the Ohio Operating and Engineer’s Union, having worked at Quality Pipeline, Bill Hawk, Inc., and Northeast Ohio Natural Gas. If you stopped by to see him between March and November, you would find him mowing. He also enjoyed sports and being with his large family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Linda Mae (Garrett) Beers, on July 9, 2016, having married July 16, 1960, also a sister, Peggy Lou Baker, and a great-grandson, Jacob Anthony Hayward. Fred is survived by five children, Vickie (Dennis) Moore, Julie (Bill) Knecht, Jodie Beers, Cheryl (Jan) Slutz, and Frederick (Laurie) Beers IV, sister Nancy Sue Albaugh, 14 grandchildren, Alyssa (Chad) Craver, Jessica (Tony) Hayward, Chelsa (Nate Shuman) Slutz, Kelie (Nick) Zaugg, Jan Slutz, Kristin Moore, Kori (Tristen) Lambert, Matthew (Nicole) Moore, Frederick (Ashley) Beers V, Tyler (Brooke) Beers, Van Slutz, Alexis Beers, Nathan Beers, and Brock Beers, and 13 great-grandchildren, Emma, Ivy, Bena, Kohen, CJ, Warren, Addy, Izzy, Colson, Elena, Jaxon, TJ, and Maisie due in February. Services will be held Sat., Jan. 23, 2021, at 1 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Mark Gross officiating. Calling hours with restrictions will be held Friday 6-8 p.m., with social distancing, facial covering, and only 10 people at a time in the room with the large family.
