Eileen “Peg” Cayton
Age 87, of Waynesburg, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021. She was born Feb. 10, 1934 in Salem, WV, a daughter of the late Clemmy and Lavina (Baker) Merritt, and had been a Waynesburg resident sixty years. She and her husband had owned and operated Bob’s Alley and Wayne’s Restaurant in Waynesburg and she also had been a waitress at Isaly’s. Peg had been an avid bowler for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Andy D. Cayton, on Oct. 29, 2005, and a sister and three brothers, Ruby Boring, Ralph, Elden, and Robert Merritt. Peg is survived by two sons, Allan and Cheryl Cayton, and Paul Cayton and Tina, six grandchildren, Sarah (Shaun) Fiddler, Lainy (Jason) Gooding, Luke (Lindsay) Cayton, Sabrina (Shawn) Simmons, Nick (Lynsey) Cayton, and Jake (Brittney) Cayton, 11 great-grandchildren, and one on the way, and one brother, Ronald (Sally) Merritt. Services will be held Sat. at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Allan Brown officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service on Sat.
