Edward E. Taggart

Age 83, of Mineral City, passed away September 4, 2023. He was born August 12, 1940 in Harrison County, OH, a son of the late Samuel and Margaret (Howell) Taggart, and resided in the Mineral City area most of his life.  Ed was a 1958 graduate of Freeport High School, and was retired from the U. S. Ceramic Tile Co. in East Sparta. He was a member of Huff Run, the Mineral City Historical Society, was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed Stock Car Races, NASCAR Races, and had served as a mechanic for local racers Donald Nicholson and Jerry Pikna.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Alveretta (Nichols) Taggart, on June 12, 1996, and two brothers, Bill and Bob Taggart. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Randy Sears, three step-children and eight step-grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in Koch Funeral Home in Freeport, OH.  Interment in Union Cemetery in Morristown, OH.  Friends may call Thursday 3-5 p.m. at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia, OH, and Friday 11 a.m.-1 p.m. before the service at Koch Funeral Home.
