David L. Grasse

Age 83, of Canton, passed away Monday, Sept. 18, 2023.  He was born Oct. 17, 1939 in Canton, a son of the late Golden and Nora (Hostetler) Grasse, and was a life resident. Dave was retired from Regal Metal Products, where he was Director of Quality Assurance for 14 years. Prior to that he worked at Teledyne Monarch for 31 years. He had been a member of New Home Church. Dave coached Hot Stove Baseball and church softball, because he loved coaching kids, especially his sons, and also Plain Local Midget Football.  He played for the Canton Masters, an over 50 baseball team for several years.  He and Sandy enjoyed Couples Western Dancing and Line Dancing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother, Carolyn Kling, Patty Minix, and Ron Grasse. Dave is survived by his wife, Sandra A. “Sandy” Grasse, with whom he celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary on March 20th; three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Julie Grasse, Dan and Maryann Grasse, and Darren and Dianne Grasse; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, Evan (Brittany) Grasse, and their son, Benjamin, Elise (Brad) Jones, and their daughter, Cora, Alyssa Grasse, Daniel Grasse, Jessica (Lance) Domenget, and their children, Stella, Jayden, Amari, and Ryatt, Taylor Grasse, and Matthew Grasse.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastors Ryan Johanning, John Ferris and Jeffrey Shultz officiating. Friends may call Thursday 5-7 p.m. Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
