Dale A. Langman

Age 85, of Canton, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018.  He was born in Canton, Oct. 6, 1932, a son of the late Donald and Wilma (Class) Langman, Sr., and was a life resident.  Dale was a 1950 graduate of Lincoln High School and also a graduate of The University of Akron.  He enlisted in the Navy to help save our country, and served from 1951-1954, assigned to a Navy Air Squadron VJ-61 in Miramar, CA.  Dale retired in 1987 from Firestone Rubber Co., and also worked at Goodyear Rubber Co. and AEP.  From 1987-1994 he was an Electrical Engineering Consultant.  He was a devout Christian man and attended Canton Grace Brethren Church.  He enjoyed and loved his family, and the many travels to Myrtle Beach and winters in Fort Myers, FL.  Besides his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his first wife, Elaine (Waechter) Langman, on March 6, 2001, an infant son, and two brothers, Donald, Jr. and Richard.  He is survived by his wife, Janet Elliott, one daughter and three sons, Kathleen (James) Yackey, David (Veronica) Langman, Steven Langman, and Dale (Kristi) Langman, Jr.; stepchildren, John (Paula) Elliott, Jeff (Stacey) Elliott, and Jerry (Jackie) Elliott; also eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and seven step-grandchildren.  Services will be held Sat. at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Cosentino officiating.  Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.  Friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dale’s memory may be made to Grace Brethren Church, 6283 Market Ave. N, Canton, OH 44721, the Wounded Warrior Project, or the Salvation Army.  The family wishes to express their appreciation to the Nurses and staff of MCIU at Aultman Hospital for the love and care they gave to Dale.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
