Carol S. Watson

Age 81, of Bolivar, formerly of East Sparta, passed away peacefully Friday, March 25th, 2022 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born May 18th, 1940, in East Sparta, OH, a daughter of the late George and Thelma Schlimm. Carol was a 1958 graduate of Sandy Valley High School and worked as a cook for many years at Crossroads Restaurant along with being a full-time wife and mother. Carol took pride in caring for her family and was known for her incredible cooking and baking. Carol was a member of the East Sparta Methodist Church and the Sandy Valley Fraternal Order of the Eagles to where she held the position of President of the women’s Auxiliary for many years. Carol had a smile that could light up a room and a laugh that was contagious. She found her joy in cooking, baking, partaking in community events, crafting, gardening, her grandchildren and above all else, spending time with her family and her husband, who was the love of her life. Carol was full of love, joy, and loved her family more than anything, especially her grandchildren. She was the rock of her family, always making sure everyone else was taken care of and had what they needed. Carol will always be remembered for her kind heart and willingness to help others.  Preceded in death by her husband, Norman Watson, her daughter Belinda Watson, her sisters Betty Keeney and Mary Winn, her brothers Richard (Ellie), Jack and Ronald Schlimm, son-in-law Michael White, and her grandson, Norman Neading. Survived by five daughters and one son-in-law, Belinda Sue White, Bridget (Tim) Cherrington, Christine Watson, Brenda Neading and Deborah Watson; one brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Norma Schlimm; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Becker, 13 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, several nieces and nephews and friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Homestead Hospice for the special care they provided to Carol.  A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Sunday June 12, 2022 at the Wilkshire Event Center located at 474 Jeanne Anne Lane, Bolivar, OH 44612 with Pastor Peggy Gardner officiating followed by a light lunch.
