Carl C. Cochran
Age 87, of North Canton, passed away Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023. He was born Oct. 19, 1935 in Akron, OH, a son of the late Clifford V. and Leila (Lashley) Cochran, raised on North Hill, and resided many years in Cuyahoga Falls, until coming to North Canton in 1996. Carl was a 1953 graduate of Akron North High School. He retired in 1998 after 42 years’ service at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., where he was in production planning and purchasing. Carl and Marilyn were very active in First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls where they were chaperones for the church high school choir and work camps. He was a member of Star Lodge #187, F. & A.M. in Cuyahoga Falls, and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Akron. Carl also had been a member of the former Akron Jaycees, and coach and President of the Cuyahoga Falls Little Black Tigers. He also had been a basketball and football official for the Ohio High School Athletic Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Tustin. Carl is survived by his wife, Marilyn Cochran, with whom he celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary on May 16th; three sons and daughters-in-law, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, Dr. Jeffrey and Ramona Cochran, and children, Jeffrey (Kara) Cochran, and their children, Fiona and Levi, and Matthew (Nikki) Cochran, and their daughter, Mara; Paul and Dawn Cochran, and their children, Clifford Cochran and Candace (Aaron) Henson; Phillip and Dana Cochran, and their children, Ethan and Elliott.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, October 2, 2023, at 11 a.m. in Church of The Lakes with Pastor Bryan George officiating. Friends may call Monday from 10-11 a.m. before the service. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Cochran’s memory may be made to First Church Feeds Mission, 245 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.
