Billy Joe Gammill
Age 82, of Canton, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021. He was born August 10, 1939 in Meadville, MS, a son of the late Rev. A. D. and Maudie (Whittington) Gammill, and had been a Canton resident 18 years. He retired in 2001 from Brintons U. S. Axminster Inc., as a supervisor, after over 30 years’ service. Billy was a member of the Cathedral of Life, where he had served as Minister of Visitation and as a Care Minister.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. C. Herschell Gammill and Proby Gammill. He is survived by his wife, Sandra T. Gammill, with whom he celebrated their 18th Wedding Anniversary on May 23rd; three daughters and one son, Cassandra Gammill and her fiancé, Tommy Gambino, Sheila Roden and her fiancé, Denton Henderson, Alicia Formet-Powell, and Chad (Samantha) Formet; one brother, Rev. A. D. (Diane) Gammill, Jr.; six grandchildren, Shenna Bell, Billy Joe (Angela) Gammill, Celeste Powell and her fiancé, Garret Zunk, Aiden Powell, Beau Formet, and Max Formet, and eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved and cherished.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Trinity Gospel Temple, 1612 Tuscarawas St. W, Canton, OH 44708, with Pastors Dana Gammill and Michael Gammill officiating. Friends may call Monday 6-8 p.m. at Trinity Gospel Temple. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
