Betty Roberts, 96, of Canton passed away peacefully on Friday, September 15, 2023, surrounded by her loving family after an extended illness.

Born in Adena, Ohio on January 3, 1927, to the late Harry & Evelyn (Durbin) Hill, she was a 1945 graduate of Adena High School where she was Valedictorian of her class.

She married her high school sweetheart, Clyde Roberts, on June 6, 1947, and celebrated 75 years of marriage in 2022.

Betty was kind, thoughtful and loving. She opened her arms and her home to everyone. No one was a stranger to Betty. She loved and accepted everyone and always had a kind word to say. As Grandmother and Great Grandmother, nothing brought her joy like her grandchildren did. She & Clyde attended every event they could from baseball, volleyball & football games, dance recitals, plays and band concerts. She was an avid fan of the Guardians and Cavs and watched every game she could.

Betty was employed as the secretary/administrative assistant at Dueber Church, retiring in 1993 after 32 years of service. Following retirement, she cared for grand/great grandchildren and volunteered at Aultman Hospital.

In addition to her parents, Betty was proceeded in death by her loving devoted husband, Clyde Roberts on March 31, 2023, and her three brothers, Bob, Glenn & Richard Hill.

She is survived by her children, Mark (Lucie) Roberts of Westerville; Joan (Mike) Black of Canton and Patti Rinaldi of Myrtle Beach.

Also survived by her seven grandchildren, Adam (Becky) Roberts of Westerville; Megan (Mark) Thewes of Parker, CO; Mike Black, Jr. & Corey Black, both of Canton; Andy (Margot) Black of Columbus; Chelsee Rinaldi (Tommie Smail) of Navarre & Nick (Kat) Rinaldi of Canton. There are ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Saturday, September 23rd at 11am with the funeral immediately following at 12 noon in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Chester Harris officiating.
