Betty A. Cooper,

Age 98, of Magnolia, passed away Sun., Jan. 22, 2023.  She was born Sept. 27, 1924, in Clarington, OH, a daughter of the late Richard and Merle (Mozena) Cain, Sr.  Betty was a 1942 graduate of Magnolia High School and a 1945 graduate of the Aultman School of Nursing.  She worked in nursing for 35 years, at the O.S.U. Hospital in Columbus, Aultman and Mercy Hospitals in Canton, Dr. Tucker’s and Dr. Oberer’s offices in Magnolia and retired in 1989 from Dr. Nicoletti’s office in East Sparta.  Her passion was reading, especially British authors, and classical music.  Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Preceded in death by her sister, Helen Ziegler, and her brother, Richard Cain, Jr.  Survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy (Harold) Irwin, Carol Sue (George “Bo”) Hysong, and Mary Beth (Jim) Klick; six grandchildren, Jennifer Fryer, Jessica (Brian) Miller, Andrew (Katie) Irwin, Nathan Hysong, Benjamin (Kourtney) Klick and Camille (Alex) Zavara; six great grandchildren, Graceann Fryer, Gavin Fryer, Braxton Irwin, Ensley Anne Irwin, Cooper Miller, and Elizabeth Miller; and her neighbors, Gary and Betty Gordon, Grace Trushel and Sondra Duerr. 

 A Memorial Service will be held Fri. at 6 pm in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Janice Strawn officiating.  There will be no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Betty’s name may be made to: Helping Hands Network, 126 S Main St, Waynesburg, OH 44688, or Refuge of Hope Ministries, 715 2nd St NE, Canton, OH 44704, .  Condolences may be left at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
