Obituary

William "Bill" Ray Morrow (Uncle Billy, Smokie)

In the early morning of May 9, 2022, William Ray Morrow passed away at Altercare of Nobles Pond from complications with cancer. He was 71 years old.

Born on the first day of spring, March 20, 1951, Bill was a lifelong resident of Canton, Ohio. He was the youngest child of the late David Wilson and Irma K. Balser Morrow and had three older siblings, a sister and two brothers.

Bill graduated from Lehman High School in 1969 and went on to work seven years for The Hoover Company in North Canton and 23 years for Stark Area Regional Transit Authority, or SARTA.

Uncle Billy was big hearted and good natured. He always had a smile on his face and was quick to joke with you to get you laughing. He was always there to listen and help when you needed support. Even in the darkest of days he could find joy. He was non-judgmental and forgiving of others, always encouraging us to be the best versions of ourselves. He loved his family, his cats and all the family dogs, and celebrating Christmas with his loved ones. His joyful nature, faith, and innate sense of right and wrong will remain within all of us who were affected by his life.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, David Wilson and Irma K. Balser Morrow; his sister and brother-in-law, Judith and Richard Richards; his brother, David W. Morrow; and sister-in-law, Susan K. (Robert) Morrow.

Uncle Billy is survived by his brother, Robert D. Morrow and nephew, Stephen of Canton, Ohio; niece, Lorraine (Joe) Morrow Huff of Canton, Ohio; nephew, Greg Richards of Ravenna, Ohio; and niece, Traci Richards of Lakeside, Ohio.
