Obituary

William L. "Bill" Moore Age 83, of Canton, passed away Sunday morning in Emeritus of Canton, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Massillon, a son of the late Thomas and Flora B. (Heaton) Moore, and a grandson of the late Mary and Brady Heaton, and was a life resident of the Massillon/Canton area. Bill attended Massillon Washington High School. He retired from Plain Local Schools in 1996 where he was a custodian, and he also worked at the Canton Museum of Art for almost 40 years. Bill served in the U. S. Army from 1947-48, and the U. S. Marine Corps from 1949-53. He was preceded in death by a son, Ryan Moore. Survived by his wife, Mercedes (Moreau) Moore, with whom he celebrated their 58th Wedding Anniversary on April 16th; a daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Mark Pennington, of Massillon; a son and daughter-in-law, Craig Moore and Kristine Nielson, of Bloomington, IN; one granddaughter, Kelcie Pennington. Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffrey Witherspoon officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call two hours before the service on Thursday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill's memory may be made to the Stark County Humane Society, 5100 Peach St. NE, Louisville, OH 44641, or the Canton Museum of Art, 1001 N. Market Ave., Canton, Ohio 44702 .
