Obituary

William E. Manist Age 76, of North Lawrence, passed away Tuesday morning in Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Canton, a son of the late William and Florence (Larson) Manist, and was a life resident of this area. Bill was a 1954 graduate of McKinley High School, and retired in 2003 from Slates Body Co., after over 25 years service, where he was a foreman and sales manager, previously working at Diebold Inc. and The Timken Co. He was a member of Caldwell Lodge #330, F. & A.M. in Bolivar, which he served as Master in 1975, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton, and Tadmor Temple. He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Myra Lazar and Gloria Jean Manist. Survived by his wife, Susan E. Manist; one sister and brother-in-law, Lenore and Bill Parkier, of Portland, OR; a nephew and his wife, Robert and Jennie Sausman, of Canton; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held Sat. at 10:30 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Sanders officiating. Interment in West Lawn Cemetery.
