William F. Crosby

Age 89, of Boca Raton, FL, formerly Magnolia, passed away Sat. in Hospice by The Sea in Boca Raton.  He was born in Akron, a son of the late John William Crosby, and Majel (Hilaman) Hann, and his step-father, George Hann, who raised Bill, and resided in Boca Raton 37 years, previously Magnolia.  Bill was a 1942 graduate of McKinley High School.  He was a Quality Assurance Engineer, and had worked for Goodyear Aerospace and Babcock & Wilcox.  He also was employed by Ralph M. Parsons Co. of California and worked for them in Saudi Arabia and Paris, France.  Following that he worked for the U. S. Postal Service as a Quality Assurance Engineer, and lastly as a bridge tender at the Spanish River Bridge in Florida.  Bill served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Hann.  Survived by his wife, Wanda E. (Gordon) Crosby, with whom he celebrated their 38th Wedding Anniversary on Aug. 9, 2013; one daughter and son-in-law, Shelley and Jack Henkel, of Massillon; one son and daughter-in-law, William J. and Sharon Crosby, of Acworth, GA; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Shawn and Kathleen Geckler, and their sons, Chase and Tyler, Danya and Brian Platter, and their children, Aphaia and Brian, and Ricci Dolph II and his fiancée, Angela Masters; and a sister, Millie Hann.  Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Clifford Hughes officiating.  Interment in Magnolia Cemetery.  Friends may call one hour before the service on Friday.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
