WILLIAM J. BURKHART, SR.,
Age 89, of Morges, passed away Wed. evening in Aultman Hospital. Born in Rose Twp., a son of the late George and Otildia Schoeppner Burkhart, he had been a life resident of Morges. Bill was a retired dairy farmer and also worked at the U.S. Ceramic Tile Co., Whitacre-Greer Fireproofing Co. and Crowl Lumber Co. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Morges and the Farm Bureau. Preceded in death by three brothers, George, Albert and Harry Burkhart, and two sisters, Mildred Gallagher and Nell Barnhouse. Survived by his wife, Martha (Crock) Burkhart, with whom he celebrated their 58th Wedding Anniversary on June 5th; one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Chris Thompson, and one son and daughter-in-law, William, Jr. and Nancy (Papai) Burkhart, all of Morges, one sister-in-law, Wilma Burkhart, of Louisville, seven grandchildren, Christina Proudfoot and her fiance, Jason Lee, Brian Thompson, Anne (Lee) Evans, Erika (Dustin) Shockey, and Matthew, Kathryn and Nathan Burkhart; and eight great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Mon. at 12 Noon in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Morges with Fr. Anthony Batt as celebrant. Interment in St. Mary's Church Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the Mass at the church from 11 a.m.-12 noon. The Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia is in charge of arrangements.
