WILLIAM RILEY BELL, Age 82, of Canton, passed away Thur. evening in his residence. Born a son of the late William and Valle Riley Bell, he had been a 70 year resident of Canton. Bill retired in 1983 from Diebold, Inc., after 35 years service, where he worked on vault doors. He was a member of First Church of the Resurrection, Canton Lodge #60 F.A. & M., the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton, and Canton Eagles, Aerie #2380. Bill was an avid golfer and spent many days golfing at Edgewater Golf Course. Preceded in death by a special uncle, Francis Bell. Survived by his wife, Martha Bell, with whom he celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on Jan 14th; three daughters and sons-in-law, Stacey and Ron Metzger, of Minerva, Denise and Dale Sprout, of East Sparta, and Valle Jo and Jake Cernik, of Canton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Elden and Myra Bell, of Minerva, and Cary A. and Jeanie Bell, of Wausau, WI; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Patricia Ebling and LeiLani and Jim Mensinger, all of Reno NV; on brother and sister-in-law, James G. and Janet Bell, of Canton; and nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. According to his wishes, following cremation, a Memorial Service will be conducted Wed. at 11 a.m. in the First Church of the Resurrection in Canton with Pastor Bruce Mont officiating. The family will receive friends Wed. at 5 p.m. in Edgewater Golf Course in Minerva.
