Wendell W. Young

Age 93, of Canton, passed away Sun., Aug. 21, 2022.  He was born Nov. 16, 1928, in North industry, OH, a son of the late Chester and Marie (Miller) Young.  Wendell was a 1946 graduate of Canton South High School, served in the Korean Conflict in the 101st Airborne Division and retired from Sugardale Foods after 35 years' service as a Truck Driver.  He was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church and VFW Post #3747 and was a lifetime member of the Meyers Lake Sportsman's Club.

Survived by his wife, Beverly Young, with whom he would have celebrated their 72nd Wedding Anniversary on Sept. 30; one daughter and son-in-law, Diane (Marty) Wilcox; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald (Theresa) Young and David (Karen) Young; nine grandchildren, Christina, Heather, Tonya, Jason, Angela, Don, Michelle, Matt, and Lisa, and 12 great grandchildren, Melyna, Addison, Hayden, Logan, Lucas, Camden, Larry, Lilly, Noah, Hallie, Carmen, and Luca.

Services will be held Fri. at 11 am in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Barbara Ross and Rev. David Ross officiating.  Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville with Military Honors.  Friends may call one hour before the service, from 10-11 am in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Wendell's memory may be made to: Simpson United Methodist Church, 4900 Middlebranch Ave NE, Canton, OH 44705.  Condolences may be left at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
