WANDA B. "SIS" LEWIS, Age 77, of East Sparta, passed away Tues. morning in Hennis Care Centre in Bolivar. Born a daughter of the late William and Mary "Polly" Slates Patterson, she had been a life resident of East Sparta. Sis was a 1951 graduate of East Sparta High School and was Salutatorian, and retired in 1981 from Sears after 13 years service, where she worked in the Credit Office. She was a an associate member of NARFE and a member of Sears Retirees, and East Sparta United Methodist Church where she taught a Sunday School Class in the Junior Dept. and sang in the choir for 46 years. Preceded in death by her daughter, Amy LaQuaglia and her brother, Lt. Gary Patterson, who was killed during WWII in 1943. Survived by her husband, William Lewis, with whom she celebrated their 51st Wedding Anniversary on Sept. 19th, 2010; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Jennifer Lewis, of Youngstown, and Rev. Douglas and Suzanne Lewis, of Medina; one son-in-law, Frank LaQuaglia, of Massillon; one sister-in-law, Luella Crites and her husband, Eric, of Hartville; five grandchildren, Wesley LaQuaglia, Jennifer Lewis, Benjamin Lewis, Jonathan Lewis, and Nicole Lewis; four nieces and their families; several cousins; her dear friends, Beryl Biechler and Jack and Joyce Moore; and her church family. A funeral will be held Sat. at 11 a.m. in the East Sparta United Methodist Church with Rev. Peggy Garner, Rev. George Bender and her son, Rev. Douglas Lewis officiating. Interment in East Sparta Cemetery. Friends may call Fri. from 6-8 p.m. in Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia.
