Walter E. Vorhees
Age 92, of Waynesburg, passed away Wed., Sept. 24, 2014, in Aultman Hospital. He was born in East Sparta, a son of the late Walter and Odessa (Newland) Vorhees, and had been a Waynesburg resident since 1968. Walter was a 1942 graduate of East Sparta High School. He retired in 1984 from Diebold Inc., after 32 years service, where he worked in the Print Shop, and later was a lock assembler. He also owned and operated Vorhees Printing in East Sparta with his brother, Gail. Walt was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Waynesburg, the former Canton Moose Lodge #233, in Canton, Magnolia Chapter #4647, A.A.R.P., and was a life member of the Tuscarawas County Coin Club. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Jennie (Albert) Vorhees, on Dec. 12, 2003, one sister and four brothers, LaVonne Lab, Paul, Harry, Clyde, and Gail Vorhees. Survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Walter "Wally" and Jana Vorhees, and their daughter, Shauna, of Chandler, AZ. Friends may call Friday 12-12:30 p.m. at the Finefrock-Gordon funeral Home in Magnolia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in St. James Catholic Church with Fr.
