Walter V. McDade

Age 90, of Sandyville, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022.  He was born Oct. 5, 1931 in East Sparta, a son of the late Okey and Cressa (Gill) McDade, and was a life resident of the East Sparta/Sandyville area.  He was a 1949 graduate of East Sparta High School.  Walt retired in 1995 from Sears, after 29 years' service, where he was a salesman in the carpet department.  He was a member of East Sparta Christian Church, and the Senior Saints Sunday school class, the Sears Retirees Club, which he served as President for several years, the Sandyville Community Club, and Isaac L. Kinney American Legion Post #244.  He honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Inez (Medley) McDade, on Sept. 7, 2008, an infant twin son to Rodney, Roger McDade, a sister, Mary Alice, five brothers, Paul, Andrew, Edward, Homer and Jack, and three sisters-in-law, Hope, Marge, and Doris McDade.  He is survived by two daughters and three sons, Robin (Richard) King, Ronda (Richard) Beck, Randy (Judy) McDade, Rodney (Susan) McDade, and Chris McDade, a foster daughter, Treasea (Rory) McClean, one brother, Glen (Pat) McDade, two sisters-in-law, Terrace and Jean McDade, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and one soon to be born.

Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in East Sparta Christian Church with Brother Timothy Carlson officiating.  Friends may call Sunday 2-4 p.m. at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia and Monday 10-11 a.m. at the church before the service.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville with Military Honors.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
