Wade E. Hartzell
Age 85, of Lake Cable, passed away Sunday evening, Sept. 30, 2012, in Aultman Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 10, 1927 in Canton, a son of the late Earl and Arline (Lautzenheiser) Hartzell, and was a life resident. Wade was a 1945 graduate of Timken High School, and retired in 1983 from Ohio Bell, after 38 years' service, where he was a foreman. He was a member of First Christian Church, Wm. McKinley Lodge #431, F. & A.M., the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton, Tadmor Temple, Lake Cable Recreation Association and Sportsman's Club, and the Ohio Bell Pioneers, and he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Norma, and being with his family. Wade served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Norma J. Hartzell, on May 2, 2004. Survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Brent and Cheryl Hartzell, of Westerville, OH, Mark and Denise Hartzell and Scott and Cindy Hartzell, all of Canton; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, Lynea (Mat) Bobo, and their children, Ellie, Matty, and Riley, Heather Hartzell, Bret (Kristin) Hartzell, and their daughters, Abigail and Emma, Meagan (Tim) Sanders, and their children, Garrett, Kate, and Annie, Ashley Hartzell, Shane Hartzell, Spencer Hartzell, and Travis Broadus and his son, Trevor; also his special friend, Pat Bird. Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Jeffrey Bullock officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
