Virginia M. "Ginny" West

Age 97, of Malvern, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017.  She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late John D. and Helen (Adams) Copeland, and was Canton resident most of her life, until moving to Malvern to be with her daughter.  Ginny was a 1938 graduate of McKinley High School.  She was retired from Ohio Auto Supply where she was an accountant, and also worked at Town & County IGA until she was 88.  Ginny was a member of Malvern United Methodist Church and previously Centenary United Methodist Church where she taught a Sunday School class.  Besides her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by her husbands, James R. West, on May 11, 1989, and Charles Smith, two sons, James and Charles West, a grandson, Robbie Cordray II, and a son-in-law, Robert L. Cordray.  She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Cordray; two grandchildren, James A. Cordray, and Dawn (Jim) Hanlin; five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, Ayden Hanlin, Aaron (Ryan Schmidt) Hanlin, Nicole (Harold Davis) Hanlin and their son, Elliott, James R. (Jessica) Hanlin and their sons, Jayden and Jackson, James C. (Megan) Bennington) Hanlin II and their daughter, Lillian.  Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Frank Zugaro, Jr., officiating.  Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.  Friends may call Friday 10-11 a.m. before the service.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
