Virginia Ruth (Griffith) Mallette

Age 93, of Canton, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021. She was born July 29, 1928 in Canton, OH, a daughter of the late Harold and Dorothy (Netting) Griffith.  On September 6, 1947 she married Charles Mallette, Jr, with whom she celebrated 59 years of marriage.   She was a loving mother to her only daughter, Sally.  Virginia was a life member of First Christian Church and the Kum-Join-Us Sunday school Class.  She had many life-time friends with whom she enjoyed playing cards and going out to eat.  She enjoyed watching Ohio State Football and Cleveland Cavs Basketball, but most of all, Virginia loved spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Mallette, Jr., and her brother, Raymond A. Griffith.  She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Doug Custer, her sister-in-law, Nan Griffith, and several very special nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Ken Muller, Chaplain, officiating. Friends may call Monday 10-11 a.m. before the service.  Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Virginia's memory may be made to First Christian Church, 6900 Market Ave. North, Canton, OH 44721.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
