Virginia Ztnel Farley
Age 99, of North Canton, passed away Sat., Jan. 21, 2012, in St. Luke Lutheran Home. She was born in Indianapolis, IN, a daughter of the late George and Mabel (Allen) Lentz, and came to Canton at age 10. Virginia was a 1930 graduate of McKinley High School and a 1932 two year graduate of Miami University. Virginia had been employed by Thurin's, Livingston's and Romie Hardens Drapery as an Interior Decorator. Following retirement she volunteered at Heather Ridge Assisted Living in North Canton. Her past activities included PTA, Stark County Council of the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and was active in four churches. She was presently active in the Everhard-Belden AARP Chapter #4121 and Parkway AARP Chapter #5190, and for several years was a Representative for the Ohio AARP Office. Virginia also served many years as a Presiding Judge for the Board of Elections. She was of Protestant Faith. Preceded in death by her husband, Edward T. Farley, on Oct. 20, 1982, an infant son and three older sons, Herbert, Edward "Boom", and Barton "Barry" Farley, and two brothers, Herbert and Allen Lentz. Survived by her daughter, Darlene Farley and her spouse, Cynthia Marvin, of Clifton Springs, NY; her son, George Farley, of Wadsworth, OH; a special daughter-in-law, Judy Farley, of Canton; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Jean Lentz, of Delaware, OH. Services will be held Wed. at 11 a.m.in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Gary A. Smith officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Farley's memory may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
