Virgil A. Ravenscroft
Age 79, of Bolivar, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022, from injuries sustained in an auto accident in New Philadelphia. He was born May 2, 1942 in Allegheny, MD, a son of the late Stanley and Marjorie (Fazenbaker) Ravenscroft, and has resided in Ohio since 1958. He was a retired self-employed construction worker. He was known for his favorite saying, "Hells Fire."
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Owen, Jimmy, and Roy Ravenscroft, and a granddaughter, Alyshia Ravenscroft. Virgil is survived by a daughter and three sons, Lisa Metz, Virgil (Melissa) Ravenscroft, Jr., Mike (Brenda) Ravenscroft, and Tony Ravenscroft, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter, four sisters, Mary Chrise, Joyce Thomas, Connie (Andy) Mudrey, and Barbara Ravenscroft, three brothers, Ray (Brenda) Ravenscroft, Bobby (Cathy) Ravenscroft, and Kenny (Rosel) Ravenscroft.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, Jan. 24, 2022, from 6-9 p.m.in the East Sparta Community Building. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses. Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
