Obituary

Velma E. Foster Age 80, a resident of Carroll Health Care, passed away Sunday morning in Aultman Hospital. She was born in Magnolia, a daughter of the late Nelson and Sarah Jennings Van Meter, and was a life resident of the Magnolia/Malvern area. Velma was a 1948 graduate of Magnolia High School and was a member of Sandy Valley Church of God. Preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Foster, in 1985, a son, James Varansky, killed in action in Viet Nam in 1970, a son-in-law, Paul Russell in 1997, and a sister, Beverly Haines. Survived by her daughter, Yvonne Russell, of Malvern; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, George, Robert, and Michael Russell, and two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Violet Russell; one sister, Betty Steed and one niece, Sally Jo Steed, both of Alliance. Services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Clifford Hughes officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville.
