Theodora "Teddi" Jones-Hudy

We mourn the loss of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, who passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014.  Teddi was born on March 19, 1943 in Canton and was a life resident of East Sparta.  She was a 1961 graduate of Sandy Valley High School, and upon graduation, attended Gerber Beauty School where she obtained her cosmetology license and immediately opened her own Beauty Shoppe in East Sparta.  She sold her business to devote time to raising her family.  She then returned to the business world in the Human Resource Dept. of Dairy Mart, finally retiring in 2003.  After her retirement she enjoyed ceramic classes, devoting time to a prayer group, volunteering at her church, and spending time with her grandchildren.  Teddi was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Theodore and Ruth (Barnett) Jones.  She is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas Hudy, Jr.; her daughter, Michelle Kovach-Bearinger and husband, Ivan, of Traverse City, MI; sons Michael (Lisa) Biclawski, of Canton, and Joel (Yoshie) Reynolds, of Livonia, MI;  step-son, Thomas (Doreen) Hudy III, of Carrollton; her mother-in-law, Catherine Hudy;  sisters-in-law, Carol Mick and Deb Hudy.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Michael Kovach, of Ft. Wayne, IN, Marissa, Alexis, and Michael Biclawski, of Canton, and Erika and Kent Reynolds, of Livonia, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews.  A Memorial Service will be held on Sat., March 1, 2014, at 1 P.M. in East Sparta United Methodist Church with Pastor Peggy Garner officiating.  The family will receive friends in the church Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Teddi's memory may be made to East Sparta United Methodist Church, PO Box 445, East Sparta, OH 44626.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
